About Novelty Tea House

I stumbled on this place watching a food show on a Tamil channel.  Apparently this is now a second generation business having started 50 years back.

The location of this place itself is very interesting in that you can’t expect to drive your car and find a parking spot or a valet parking.  Walking to this place is an adventure in the small lanes of Sowcarpet with the many hand-pulled trolleys and the rickshaws and the cattle that occupy every inch of the road. You won’t regret the effort you spent in getting past all this.

Another small joint with a very few tables sans the ambience.

Their service and the taste compensates for the lack of ambience.  Do not miss their speciality dosas ( what they’re famous for) and the pav-bhaji.
